With the 2-port PCI Express USB 3.0 card PexusB3S25 you can add two USB 3.0 ports to a PCI express-capable computer system. With optional LP4 power connection to connect the power supply of the system and provide up to 900 MA electricity via port for USB 3.0-powered devices (500 mA for USB 2.0). This USB 3.0 controller in combination with a [%group id = "114" text = "Uasp-capable housing" Append_Qs = "filter_uasp_yn = yes"%] up to 70%faster than a conventional USB 3.0 (Note: UASP is not supported by all operating systems). With a more efficient protocol than the conventional USB (Bulk-only Transport), UASP technology optimizes the transmission by processing several commands at the same time, so that the transmission speed increases significantly and the waiting times for data transmissions are reduced. The PCIe USB 3.0 adapter corresponds to the USB 3.0 standards for data transmission speeds of up to 5 GBIT/s and still offers downward compatibility with existing USB 2.0/1.1 devices. For additional versatility, the controller card is equipped with a standard profile slot sheet and is delivered with a low profile /semi-height slot sheet for installation in compact computers. Improved performance with UASP
UASP is supported in Windows 8, Server 2012 and Linux Kernel 2.6.3 or higher. In tests, UASP showed up to 70 % higher reading speed and 40 % higher writing speed compared to a conventional USB 3.0 in the case of peak performance.
In the test, Uasp also showed an 80 % reduction in the need for processor resources.
Test results were obtained with an Intel Ivy Bridge system, USB 3.0 additions from Startech.com, a UASP-capable Startech.com case and a SATA III Solid State Drive.
