3D Printer

3D Printer

3D printers have been used successfully in the company for quite some time, but they are gaining in popularity even in the private sphere. In our assortment you will therefore find various 3D printers from the well-known manufacturers, with which you can easily implement your ideas and become creative. What are the differences between the models and what should be considered when buying, you will find below.

How do 3D printers work and which techniques are available?

Due to the large number of 3D printers, the overview is often difficult. However, it is basically differentiated between different printing methods. These include the free-space, powder bed and liquid process.

The open space procedure

3D printers using this technique have a print room by creating the model layer by layer. As a rule, solid material (also called filament) is used. During printing, this is heated to press through a nozzle and ultimately apply the model. Therefore, this type of 3D printing is also called additive printing process. Widely used is Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) or Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF).

Powder bed process

For printing by the powder bed process, a trough-shaped pressure chamber is used. In this layer also powder is applied. With the help of a binder or a heat irradiation, the print object is then piece by piece and then continues with the next layer. For example, electron beam melting (EBM) and selective laser melting (SLM) fall into this area.

Liquid process

As the name implies, in this technique of 3D printing, a print room is the foundation filled with a liquid. The latter is a light-curing plastic (photopolymer). With the help of a laser, the printer can then cure exactly those parts that are supposed to yield the 3D object at the end. Known representatives of this technology include Digital Light Processing (DLP) and Stereolithography (SLA).

How do I choose the right 3D printer?

Before buying a 3D printer, you should first of all think about what goal they are pursuing. What the objects are to be used for has e.g. Influence on the final choice of the filament and thus also on the printing process. In addition, the numerous printers work with different accuracy. Methods such as stereolithography are particularly suitable for filigree work.

For models made using the free-space method, additional support structures may be needed for the print to succeed. They can do this in harsher environments and some printers allow the use of two different filaments. Of course, the size of the planned objects also influences the decision, since each printer has only a limited pressure chamber.

Are you looking for used 3D printers?

We offer you both new and used and refurbished 3D printers, between which you can choose freely. All devices are of course checked and work properly. Accordingly, you can save on used 3D printer money and still benefit from high quality print products.

So just reposition your ideas, produce required parts as needed, and respond flexibly to change requests and adjustments. Not only in the company, but also in the hobby cellar and the local workshop, 3D printers can be an ideal extension. Especially the high flexibility you will not want to miss.
