The network card supports the extended NBASE-T technology. This is compatible with the latest Multi-Gigabit-Ethernet switches and routers such as the new Cisco Campus switches (including Catalyst 4500E, 3850 and 3560-CX). The card enables the connection to NBASE-T-based devices with network speeds of 2.5 GBit/s or 5 GBit/s via your existing Cat5e infrastructure without having to upgrade to a more expensive Cat6a structure.
NBASE -T technology increases the speed of twisted Cat5e copper cabling over a distance of up to 100 meters. The Ethernet network card also supports network speeds of 10 GBIT/s using CAT6A cabling, and network speeds of 1 GBIT/s using CAT5E cabling (or better).
