The Silverstone ECU04-E is a PCI-E-gen 2.0-X2 extension card with an internal 19-pin USB 3.1 connection (supports two connections). It complements the original ECU04 design with two Redriver chips for significantly improved performance with longer cable connections. As a result, the dual 10 GB/S bandwidth transmission rate can also be maintained at up to 2 meters, in contrast to restriction to 1 meter in accordance with USB 3.1. The ECU04-E is also with USB 3.0/2.0/1.1 downward compatible and supports UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) for increased performance. For operating systems with XHCI (extensive host controller interface), the ECU04-E can be installed without a driver, as it also supports XHCI.
