Time-Limited Error Recovery (TLER)
If a hard disk controller as finds a bad sector, it tries to correct the error in a given time. If this fails, the disk is removed from the RAID controller after eight or more seconds and marked as defective from the composite. To prevent this, interrupts TLER troubleshooting the disk controller and asks instead, the RAID controller for help. Anschießend the RAID array will be error free, without having to replace the hard drive and must manually restore the composite.
