This power-saving technology for notebook processors from AMD is similar to Intel's SpeedStep technology. Basically here the computing power is adapted to the current requirements. Thus, if the CPU only lightly loaded, the clock rate is lowered, reducing the voltage to reduce power consumption and enable longer battery life. The user gets from this exchange with anything because it takes place within a split second.
