Native Command Queuing (NCQ)
Native Command Queuing (NCQ short) describes a method in which the hard drive multiple commands are transferred simultaneously. Subsequently, the controller determines the sequence in which the commands are processed, in order to avoid unnecessary movements of the read / write head. This improves some of the throughput and the latency in particular.
