The performance of the Intel Core i5-2430M is mainly due to the two cores, which are operated with a clock speed of 2.40 GHz. Thanks to hyper-threading, they calculate up to four threads simultaneously. At particularly high loads, the CPU can increase its clock rate again up to 3.00 GHz, which provides further advantages.

Other features of the Intel Core i5-2430M processor include the integrated Intel HD-Grafik 3000, which eliminates the need for a dedicated graphics card and reduces power consumption in particular. The maximum power dissipation is 35 watts (TDP), but is achieved as rarely as possible. The manufacturer's advanced SpeedStep technology, for example, is involved in this.
