The basis for the AMD Third Generation Opteron 2376 are the four CPU cores with 2.3 GHz clock frequency and a total of 6 MB L3 cache. As a result, the used processor offers a sufficiently high performance to easily execute various applications and server services. A DDR2 memory controller with two channels was also integrated by AMD.
The third-generation Opteron 2376 Quad Core CPU also impresses with the other functions. For example, AMD has integrated the CoolCore technology, AMD-V and EVP into the processor. On average, the CPU consumes about 75 watts, with a maximum power dissipation of 115 watts. Of course, the latter is only achieved under full load.
Another special feature of the AMD Third Generation Opteron 2376 is the possibility to operate it together with another CPU. Basically, a socket Fr2 (1207) on the motherboard is required for use. Simply check the information in your server manual or motherboard for compatibility.
